ShareGift
Do you own shares that are not worth keeping?
Established in 1996, the charity ShareGift (registered in England, number 1052686) specialises in accepting smaller numbers of shares of low value, which are not worth selling on their own.
When you donate your shares to ShareGift, they re-register them and collect them into holdings that are large enough to sell. They then give the proceeds to a range of UK registered charities, including Epilepsy Action. So far Epilepsy Action has received over £25,000 from ShareGift. This is an amazing amount and we are incredibly grateful for their support.
If you are a UK taxpayer you can claim income tax relief on the value of shares donated to charity. In addition, donating shares to charity gives rise to neither a gain nor a loss for Capital Gains Tax purposes.
If you have shares that you would like to donate, you can contact ShareGift for a Donation Coupon:
- By post: 17 Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1Y 5AH
- By phone: +44 (0)20 7930 3737
- Or visit their website and download the coupon.
When people donate their shares to ShareGift, they are welcome to suggest a charity or cause that they support. ShareGift uses this information when choosing charities to support. Mentioning that you support Epilepsy Action may help us to receive donations from ShareGift in the future.
If you would like general information about donating larger value shareholdings directly to Epilepsy Action, please contact our fundraising department by phone on 0113 210 8800 (UK) or +44 (0)113 210 8800 (international) or by email to funding@epilepsy.org.uk.
