What’s it like to be a Talk and support group volunteer?
Our Talk and Support group volunteers lead meetings in the community or online, ensuring that everyone feels included to share their experiences with epilepsy. They also do a little bit of organising and admin to ensure the meetings run safely and smoothly.

Face-to-face Talk and support group volunteer essentials
Face to Face groups meet once a month in larger towns and cities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are looking for volunteers to join existing groups and help start new ones.
Virtual Talk and support group volunteer essentials
We have a variety of virtual groups which meet online every week. You can pick and choose which groups you want to help support.
The difference you'll make
The Talk and support group volunteer role requires a regular commitment and the benefits for people with epilepsy are fantastic. Here’s what some of our service users felt about their local groups.
What support will I receive?
You’ll have regular check-ins with your dedicated volunteer supervisor. There’s training and ongoing support to make sure you feel comfortable and confident in your role. If you want to connect with other volunteers, you’ll also be able to join regular meet-ups where you can chat to other Talk and support group volunteers, share your experiences and learn from each other.
Why I volunteer
“The best part is seeing what the group means to each person who attends. It’s great to see people open up and feel like they are in a safe place with no judgements.” – Bec
