Telephone Helpline

If you, or your family and friends need advice and information about epilepsy in languages other than English, you can do this by using our language service.

The Epilepsy Helpline is able to offer advice and information in 150 languages.

How does it work?

You can call the Epilepsy Helpline on 0808 800 5050. It is open from 8.30am to 8.00pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm and Saturday 10.00am to 4.00pm. Your call will be answered by an adviser. Tell the adviser which language you need. If you can’t do this in English, you can ask someone to make the call for you.

We will take your name, phone number and the language you need. We will end the call with you and contact our interpreter provider. It should only take a few minutes for our interpreter provider to call you and us back (known as a conference call).

What about quality?

All interpreters are highly qualified in their field. Their professionalism means that they will interpret exactly what is said.

What about confidentiality?

All interpreters sign confidentiality agreements. In addition, the Epilepsy Helpline is a totally confidential service.

This service is currently only available to UK residents.
