The Creative Shootout LogoEpilepsy Action has been chosen by The Creative Shootout as it’s charity of the year 2025.

This means the Creative Shootout’s 2025 awards will see teams of creative agencies pitch campaigns to help Epilepsy Action “put epilepsy on the map”.

The Creative Shootout is the UK’s leading done-in-a-day, creative-for-good awards and entries for 2025 are now open to marketing agencies wishing to take part.

Teams must enter by 29 November 2024, and the awards will take place on 30 January 2025 at the BAFTA in Picadilly, London.

Any marketing agency, including integrated, advertising, PR, digital, social or other, in house or freelance, can enter. They will be competing to gain Epilepsy Action as a client, win a £10,00 prize and get support from a range of partners to bring their campaign to life in 2025.

To enter, teams need to submit a 60 second entry to the Creative Shootout relevant to this year’s theme of ‘Hidden Disabilities’ or Epilepsy Action.

On Live Final day, the finalists will receive Epilepsy Action’s creative brief at lunchtime and have four hours to work on their campaign. They will then have eight minutes to pitch their idea to the judges and a live audience of hundreds of people. The winner will be announced on the night.

‘Incredible power’

Rebekah Smith, Epilepsy Action deputy chief executive, in a video explaining why epilepsy should benefit from The Creative ShootoutJohnny Pitt, founder of The Creative Shootout, said: “Who knew so many people are living with epilepsy? The prejudices surrounding it in society and in the workplace are colossal. The Shootout will change this through the incredible power and decency of the creativity community.”

Rebekah Smith, deputy chief executive at Epilepsy Action, said the charity is delighted to have been chosen for the 2025 Creative Shootout. “This offers us a fantastic opportunity to work with an incredible creative team to get epilepsy on the map and part of a national conversation.

“Time and time again we are told about the stigma and isolation that comes with an epilepsy diagnosis, and for the 630,000 people in the UK living with the condition, it’s time for that to stop.

“We need help to get this under-resourced and rarely talked about condition the profile it deserves and make a real difference to the lives of people living with epilepsy.”

Smith and Pitt will be part of the judging panel on the night, alongside a host of other company and organisation CEOs and directors.

Award entrants will also benefit from two bespoke ‘Creativity Under Pressure’ training courses. These are three-hour courses customised specifically for the Creative Shootout, led by leaders in the creative and marketing field.
