1. We follow a strict process to make sure all our information meets the same, high standards

This process makes sure that the end product is accurate, balanced, easy to read and easy to understand.

2. We use the best available evidence

We base all our information on evidence taken from sources that are robust, credible and reliable. Where we talk about individual experience, we make that clear. We publish referenced copies of our information, so you can see the evidence we have used.

3. We understand the needs of our service users

The people who write our information also speak to people on our epilepsy helpline. So they have a special understanding of the type of information people living with epilepsy want.

4. We involve our service users throughout the development of our information

We involve and listen to people living with epilepsy throughout the process, from consultation, to review, to deciding on the final product.

5. We have our information reviewed by appropriate experts

We send our information to relevant professionals for review and comment, before it is published.

6. We use your feedback

We encourage people to give us feedback and use this to improve our information.

7. We double-check that we have followed our process, before signing off the information for use

We don't just say we do all these things – we double-check we have done them as our final quality check.

8. We regularly review and update our information

We review our information regularly. Each item shows the date it was last reviewed and the date for the next review. So you can always check it is up-to-date. If something needs changing in between review dates, we change it there and then.
